Drahňov

Drahňov (Hungarian Deregnyő ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 1371 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belonged to the kraj Okres Michalovce, a part of the Košice and is located in the traditional landscape Zemplín.

Geography

The municipality is located in the East Slovak Lowland at the confluence of Laborec and Uh. The center is located at an altitude of 106 m nm and 11 kilometers from Veľké Kapušany, and 21 kilometers from Michalovce.

History

Drahňov was first mentioned in writing in 1262 and belonged to the local nobles. In the 14th century there was a toll booth, probably from the 15th century, the village developed as a patch. 1600 there were 37 houses, a country palace, a church, a parish and a school. Shortly thereafter came the long demise, so that in 1715 " leaving " the village as is mentioned and 1720 nine houses stood.

1828 are 84 houses and 605 inhabitants recorded, which were mainly employed in agriculture.

Until 1918/1919 was one of which is in the county Semplin place the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia and Slovakia today. 1938-1945 he was on the basis of the First Vienna Award again in Hungary.
