Dreamer - A dream come true is an American feature film from the year 2005.

Action

The movie is about a beautiful race horse mare named Soñador called (Spanish for dreamers ) Sonya. She has an excellent pedigree and is listed as the favorite for the upcoming races. Before a race the trainer Ben Crane wants the mare can not start because he has a bad feeling, but the owner of Palmer forcing him to give the mare at the start. In this race the horse falls and breaks a leg. Then the owner Palmer decides to let kill the mare, but Crane does not allow this. Crane is fired and gets the injured Sonya as severance pay, which is then maintained by his daughter Cale and his father. First, he wants to cover the mare by a stallion to the foal for sale and thus to secure a small profit. But it turns out that the mare is barren.

Ben Crane makes his daughter responsible for ensuring that he wanted to save the sick animal at all. Cale then passes away along with the horse. On this occasion, it turns out, this is Sonya fully recovered and could run the race again. Ben finds back the faith in the horse and let the big Sonya Breeders Cup start. The participation is made possible by the financial support of Prince Sadir. The horse occupies the first place and wins the race.

The True Story

The screenplay is based on the story of the 1991 -born racehorse Mariah 's Storm. Donald T. Johnson, Crescent Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, was the breeder. Father of the Rahy mare was, who was elected in 2001 as the "best European gallopers of the Year". After a successful career with several victories, like eg Arlington Oaks mare broke right at the beginning of the second season, the leg, and thus the end of her career seemed doomed.
