Geography
Geographical Location
Drestedt lies north of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park at the Este. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Coquille, which has its headquarters in the town of Coquille.
Community structure
The municipality Drestedt only heard of the place Drestedt.
History
By the year 1900, the municipalities Drestedt, Kakenstorf, Trelde and Sprötze formed the community The four villages. Drestedt is now an independent municipality belonging to Samtgemeinde Coquille, Kakenstorf belongs to the Samtgemeinde Tostedt, and Trelde and Sprötze have been incorporated in 1972 to Buchholz in the North Heath.

Coat of arms
Blazon: Shield divided. Shared right of red and silver three times. Links in Silver three red houses with black roofs. The three buildings symbolize the houses of the farmers, who were instrumental in the founding of the village.

Traffic
- The federal highways 75 and 3 are adjacent to the south and east on to the municipality.
- By 1968, trains stopped the disused railway line Buchholz Harsefeld on Drestedt station.
