DRYOS
DRYOS or DRYOS is a real- time operating system from Canon. It is used since 2007 in digital cameras and camcorders that use a chip of the DIGIC series from version 4.
DRYOS replaced VxWorks from Wind River Systems, which in all cameras with Digic2 ( DIGIC II) and some cameras with Digic3 ( DIGIC III) was used. DRYOS has been previously used in other Canon devices such as digital camcorders and high-end webcams.
DRYOS has a 16 kilobyte kernel and currently runs on more than ten different CPUs. The operating system provides a simulation- based environment for debugging. Canon has developed USB and middleware -compliant device drivers for file systems and network devices.
