East Acton tube station

East Acton is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2 on the Erconwald Street and is served by trains on the Central Line. In 2011, 3.41 million passengers used the station.

The opening of the station took place on August 3, 1920, when the Central London Railway (CLR, predecessor company of Central Line) extended the range of Wood Lane from west to Ealing Broadway. The track was created with the participation of the Great Western Railway ( GWR ) and also as Ealing & Shepherd 's Bush Railway known. There were links with the West London Line at Shepherd's Bush, the former GWR main line to Birmingham at North Acton and the main line to Bristol at Ealing Broadway. Since the CLR transacted only passenger, the GWR running freight railroad increased operating in parallel, however, were decommissioned in 1964. The tracks of the rail freight are now overgrown.
