Edward Braxton

Edward Kenneth Braxton ( born June 28, 1944 in Chicago) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Belleville.

Life

The Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal John Patrick Cody, ordained him a priest on May 13, 1970.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 28 March 1995 in Saint Louis and Titular Bishop of Macomades Rusticiana. The Archbishop of Saint Louis, Justin Francis Rigali, donated to him on 17 May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Paul Albert Zipfel, Bishop of Bismarck, and James Terry Steib, SVD, Bishop of Memphis.

On 12 December 2000 he was appointed Bishop of Lake Charles and introduced into the office on 22 February of the next year. On 15 March 2005, he was appointed Bishop of Belleville and introduced into the office on 22 June of the same year.
