Eeles Landström

Eeles Landström ( Eeles Landström Enok; born January 3, 1932 in Viiala ) is a former Finnish athlete. At a height of 1.86 m his competition weight was 82 kg.

Career

1952 Eeles Landström occurred at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in the decathlon. With 5694 points ( 6123 points according to the current rating since 1985 ), he finished in 14th place with 4.20 meters in the pole vault, he was employed in a discipline of the best being beaten decathlete. After 1952 he became internationally only as a pole vaulter in appearance.

At the European Championships in Berne in 1954, he jumped 4.40 meters as high as the Swede Ragnar Lundberg, but won the European title. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956, he finished with 4.25 meters in seventh place.

1958 at the European Championships 1958 in Stockholm Eeles Landström could successfully defend his title. By 4.50 he jumped as high as Manfred Preussger from the GDR and Vladimir Bulatov from the Soviet Union, but again the attempt More generally ruled in his favor.
