Eisingen

Eisingen is a municipality in the western Enz district, north of Pforzheim. The municipality Eisingen except the homonymous village There are no other villages.

Culture and sights

Eisingen is on the Bertha Benz Memorial Route, from Mannheim to Pforzheim.

Museums

A small wine museum is located in the old wine press (see images).

Structures

The historic wine press dating from 1556 has been renovated. With the help of old presses the local winegrowers was pressed here as late as the year 1949, the wine. It is located next to the old wine presses and a small wine museum. Guided tours are available by appointment.

Natural Monuments

The New and the Old Eisinger hole are two sinkholes northeast of Eisingen, near Göbrichen (municipality newcomers ). The entire area is a karst plateau, where it always comes back to Dolinenbildung. The Old Eisinger hole already used by the Romans as a quarry to build the highway in the immediate surroundings. The sinkhole is accessible with the help of carved into the stone stairs. The New Eisinger hole was created in 1966 and can be viewed from a single platform.

Regular events

• The Eisinger wine festival takes place every two years in late summer. Around the historical wine from the 1556 host local clubs, visitors to the street party.
• Alternating with the wine festival is held the wine festival of the Musikverein Eisingen counter- year. As part of the Wine Festival is the title " Eisinger Wine King " award in the competition. This title is unique in Germany.
• On April 30, the traditional maypole dancing will take place on Fountain Square.
• Every year on May 1 organized by the volunteer fire department in the May Day Gengenbachtal.
• Ascension takes place the traditional Vatertagshocketse the Musikverein in Gengenbachtal.
