Elaine S. Edwards

Elaine Schwartz Castle Edwards ( born March 8, 1929 in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana) is a former American politician, who represented the state of Louisiana for a short time in the U.S. Senate. It belonged there at the fraction of the Democratic Party.

Life

When Senator Allen J. Ellender died on July 27, 1972, she was from Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards, with whom she was married between 1949 and 1989 nominated to fill the vacant Senate seat has become new, and was thus from 1 August to on November 13, 1972 Member of Congress.
