Eliezer ben Jacob I
R. Eliezer ben Jacob the Elder ( also:. Eliezer ben Jacob the Elder ) was a Tannaite the first generation in the first century. He probably belonged to schammaitischen school and delivered primarily traditions about the temple. On it is the temple description in Middot ( II 5, 6, V., 4) recycled.
His teaching is considered to be very extensive, but halachically reliable: Although his Mishnah fills only a Kaw [ hollow Mass ] but is purely ( Babyl. Yebamot 49b).
