Elisabeth of Bavaria, Electress of Brandenburg

Elisabeth of Bavaria -Landshut (* 1383, † November 13, 1442 in Ansbach ), called the " Beautiful Else", was the first Electress of Brandenburg.

Elizabeth was a daughter of Duke Frederick of Bavaria- Landshut and his second wife Maddalena Visconti. They married on 18 September 1401 Frederick VI. of Hohenzollern Burggraf of Nuremberg, who was raised in 1415 as Frederick I Elector of Brandenburg to.

During the long hours of the absence of her husband, who moved to Italy, Hungary and the Council of Constance, they represented him wise and powerful in spite of the great problems of the time. By her third son of Albrecht Achilles she became the ancestress of the Hohenzollern royal family.
