Elize Ryd

Elize Ryd (* October 15, 1984 in Värnamo as Elise Ryd ) is a Swedish singer, composer and dancer. She is since 2008 the singer of the Swedish metal band Amaranthe. Your vocal range is soprano.

Biography

Childhood and youth

Elize Ryd grew up with two siblings in a musical family. At the age of three she began to sing and dance; quickly her talent became apparent. She took dance lessons and was in the age of four, her first public appearance.

At age 13, she became the youngest participant, a talent competition in Gothenburg and received an award as " most promising singer ".

After her graduation she decided on a career in music and attended by 2000-2003, Kongahälla School Musical Line. Again, she received an award for the " most beautiful voice ".

The way to Amaranthe

With rock music Elize Ryd first came into contact when she accepted an offer of the Swedish power metal band Falconer to participate as a guest singer in the recordings for the next album of the band.

After working in the theater Lorenberg in Gothenburg, she met Jake E. Lundberg from the band Dreamland and Olof Mörck of Dragon Land. With both bands took on songs and became friends with Lundberg and Mörck.

In 2007 she graduated from the Gothenburg 's Performing Arts School and graduated in 2008 a project on, worked on the Jake E. Lundberg and Olof Mörck. Shortly thereafter, the project was named Avalanche; Followed in 2009, renaming the band Amaranthe.

Breakthrough with Amaranthe

In 2009, the band released a first EP titled Leave Everything Behind.

The debut album of the band entitled Amaranthe appeared in April 2011 and reached number 16 and number 35 of the Finnish Swedish charts. In the same year followed by European tours with the band Kamelot (spring) and Hammerfall ( autumn). 2012 occurred the band at Wacken Open Air and other festivals.

In March 2013, the second album, The Nexus, the number 4 appeared in the Finnish and reached # 6 on the Swedish charts. This was followed by a European tour with the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius. In July 2013, the band embarked on their first North American tour with eleven concerts in the USA and Canada.

Cooperation with Kamelot

Elize Ryd 2010 received the offer to accompany the melodic power metal band Kamelot as a touring singer. In 2011 she joined Kamelot again and supported the band as a guest vocalist, among others, on a world tour through North America, South America and Europe.

In 2012 she participated as a guest vocalist on the recording of the album Silverthorn of Kamelot. In addition, she appeared in the music video for the song Sacrimony ( Angel of Afterlife ) with.

Others

In addition to its multi-year collaboration with Kamelot Elize Ryd is also involved in numerous other projects and studio recordings of various bands (including Takida, Dream State, Dragonland, Timo Tolkki 's Avalon ).

At the opening ceremony of the Gothia Cup 2012 Elize Ryd sang the song Euphoria by Loreen.

On September 28, 2012 Elize Ryd had in common with Alissa White- Gluz ( The Agonist, Kamelot ) short guest appearance at a concert of symphonic metal band Nightwish in Denver to replace their singer Anette Olzon ill.
