Embd ( Valais German: AEMD ) is a municipality in the district of Visp in the German-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Embd is at the front of the Matter. Their name is derived from the Old High German " Amat ," which refers to something like " the second Heuschnitt ".

In the village of Embd a green plate quartzite was mined for centuries, which has a prominent role in regional architecture.
