Mattertal

The Matter or Nikolaital is one of the southern valleys of the Rhone valley in the Valais, Switzerland. It is the central valleys, situated in the upper area of the Valais Alps (Alpine backbone ridge border with Italy) open to the Valais main valley towards, the middle of the valleys left of the current in the German-speaking Upper Valais (below Goms and Brig).
