Emil Ernst

Emil Hermann Ernst ( born June 6, 1889 in Newark (New Jersey), † May 26 1942 in Münster ( Westphalia ) ) was a German astronomer. He discovered the asteroid ( 705) Erminia.

It was founded in 1918 his doctorate at the Heidelberg State Observatory King chair of the University of Heidelberg with the paper "On the usefulness of Wellmann 's double image micrometer to micrometric measurements ". At this time, the observatory in Heidelberg was under his director Max Wolfein center for the discovery of asteroids. During his time there, Ernst discovered an asteroid.

In 1929 he accepted a position at the University of Münster.
