Entreprise nationale de Radiodiffusion sonore

Radio Algeria ( Arabic: الإذاعة الجزائرية, also: المؤسسة العمومية للبث الإذاعي, م ع ب إ ) (French: Radio algérienne, also: Entreprise nationale de radiodiffusion sonorous, ENRS ) is the national broadcasting institution of Algeria. In the country there is no direct censorship, but the president, members of parliament, judges and the army are legally protected from "defamation ".

History

( RTA algérienne Radio télévision diffusion, French ) founded in 1962 after Algeria became independent of France, the Algerian radio was on 28 October 1962.

1986, the Algerian radio was split into several companies, one of which is a radio Algeria. Radio Algeria produces the three national programs: Radio Culture, Radio El Bahdja and Radio Mitidja. It broadcasts in Arabic, in Berber Kabyle and French. In March 2007, Radio Algeria launched the international Radio Algeria International.

Together with its 48 local stations Radio Algeria reached around 20 million listeners.

Among the known regional stations of Radio Algeria include:

  • Radio Adrar, sends in Arabic and in the dialects " Zennati " and " Tergui " ( founded in 1996 in Adrar )
  • Radio Biskra, sends in Arabic ( founded in 1999 in Biskra )
