Band History

Early on, Roger Glover became interested in music. In the Harrow County School he met his first companions, with whom he founded in the early 1960s, The Madison, the merged around 1962 with The Lightnings. In October 1963, the band renamed in Episode Six. From the early days of Madison's guitarist Tony Lander and drummer Harvey Shield were Glover on bass, left. The formation was completed by vocalist Andy Ross, Graham Carter on guitar and the singer and keyboardist Sheila Carter - Dimmock from the earlier Lightnings. In May 1965 Andy Ross was replaced by Ian Gillan.

They rehearsed twice a week in the house of the Carter family, but without amplifier, and Sheila's father urged her to live performances. They dressed in fine white shirts and leather vests with the " Beatles style ".

In 1966, the band released four singles that were no sales successes, but have had some awareness of the band result. So the band of Radio London was invited to a large open- air festival in May, 1966, together with David Bowie. In September 1966, she went with Dusty Springfield on tour and had in the fall of weekly gigs at the Marquee Club in London. In November of the year appeared with "I Will Warm Your Heart " is the first solo single by Sheila Carter - Dimmock. The year ended with a longer stay in Beirut, and the band took to the hit parade of the country Lebanon at the same time several positions.

1967 Harvey Shield left the band for health reasons, after it had toured four weeks through Germany. He was replaced by John Kerrison, who already played earlier with Nick Simper on bass in a group. Kerrison but was fired again in the summer of 1968, and it was Mick Underwood, who had previously drummed with the Outlaws, the backing of the German -born singer Heinz.

Until mid-1969 a further five singles from Episode Six came onto the market, the last two in Chapter One. Even with the other publications and several changes in the line-up, the success was not one. In June 1969, Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord Episode Six saw live in London, and offered a job with Ian Gillan of Deep Purple. Roger Glover, who has worked first at a studio session, was also asked to help, and later they formed with Ian Paice the " Mark II " - called occupation.

The publications of Episode Six were all very different. Her debut single, Put Yourself in My Place ( already published at Pye Records), was a title of the Hollies, and released in early 1966. Their second release I Hear a Trumpet was a ballad and came originally performed by The Tokens. The B- side of the third single Mighty Morris Ten appeared in the surf sound like the Beach Boys or the Hondells practiced it and was one of the few recordings of this kind that has ever been recorded in the UK. Love- Hate - Revenge, the next single, however, was a folk-rock tracks. Morning Dew was a folk-rock ballad that comes from Bonnie Dobson and was later adopted by many other singers and bands ( including The Grateful Dead, Nazareth and Robert Plant).
