Geographical location

Erdut is far advanced in a large loop of the Danube, which here - at about 85 meters above sea level - is the border between Croatia and Serbia; the place itself is about 70 feet above the stream. A road bridge ( linking the capital of Slavonia, Osijek, with the Serbian Subotica ) as well as a bridge of the railway line Vinkovci / Osijek- Sombor, Subotica form border crossings in the neighboring country ( see also Donautrajekt Gombos - Erdöd ).

The ridge, which runs through the entire Danube loop in its east-west extension and falls steeply on its northern side to the current, is named after the village of Dalj the Daljska planina. Fertile loess soils allow the best conditions for fruit, vegetables and wine. The estate Erdut is known for its excellent white wines.
