Erik Reitz

Erik Reitz ( born July 29, 1982 in Detroit, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who was most recently at the EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Hockey League contract.

Career

Erik Reitz began his career as a hockey player with the Barrie Colts, for which he was active from 1999 to 2002 in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the sixth round as the 170th overall player of the Minnesota Wild. After Reitz already three years for Minnesota's farm team, which played Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, with whom he the Calder Cup won in 2003, he was in the course of the 2005/06 season his debut in the National Hockey League for the game. Overall, the defense came up with five appearances in his first NHL season, followed by an insert in the regular season and two in the playoffs in the following two seasons.

In early 2009 gave the Minnesota Wild the Americans from the New York Rangers, who in turn transferred him Deadline to Toronto Maple Leafs just before the end of the trade. However, this put him no more in a rest of the season. Since his contract expired in the summer, he moved to HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Continental Hockey League. For the season 2010/11 Reitz was obliged by EC Red Bull Salzburg, but completed by 2012 only 19 games for the EC. In January 2012 his contract was dissolved.

Internationally

For the U.S., Reitz took part in the Junior World Championship in 2002, where he finished fifth with the team.
