Erkki Rajamäki

Erkki Rajamäki ( born October 30, 1978 in Vantaa ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who was most recently at Ilves Tampere of the SM - liiga in under contract.

Career

Erkki Rajamäki began his career as a hockey player with Kiekko -Vantaa, in the youth teams, he was active from 1994 to 1998. He then moved to HIFK Helsinki, for which he in the 1998/99 season his debut in the SM- liiga was when he was no points in 14 games and won two penalty minutes. Subsequently, he was selected in the eighth round in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 as a total 216 players from the Tampa Bay Lightning, for which he, however, never played. After a year in the team Colgate University, the Finn returned to Europe, where it ran aground in the 2000 /01 season for his former club from Helsinki. In addition, he was this season for FPS Forssa from the Mestis and Newcastle Jesters of the British Ice Hockey Super League on the ice.

Then Rajamäki played two years for HPK Hämeenlinna and a play time for Ilves Tampere of the SM - liiga in. For 2004/ 05, the striker went a second time to North America, where he was active for the Worcester IceCats in the American Hockey League. After he started the following season with the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL and the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, he returned to Finland, where he was from 2005 to 2010 at the Espoo Blues under contract. With Espoo Rajamäki reached the championship final of the SM- liiga, where he lost his team against Kärpät Oulu in the 2007/ 08 season.

After being exposed to the game operation during the 2010/11 season, he joined the following season his former club, the reigning Finnish champions HIFK Helsinki on. In October 2012, he moved within the SM- liiga to Ilves Tampere.
