Ernest Constantine, Landgrave of Hesse-Philippsthal
Konstantin Ernst of Hesse- Philippsthal ( born August 8, 1771 in Philippstal, † December 25, 1849 in Meiningen ) out of the house of Hesse was Landgrave of Hesse - Philippsthal.
Life
Konstantin Ernst was the youngest son of the Landgrave William of Hesse - Philippsthal (1726-1810) from his marriage with Ulrike Eleonora (1732-1795), daughter of the Landgrave William of Hesse - Philippsthal - Barchfeld.
Until 1796, he was an officer in the Dutch service. In 1797 he acquired the Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt, which he sold two years later again.
In 1808 he became Grand Chamberlain of the King of Westphalia. After the dissolution of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Ernst Konstantin Landgrave of Hesse - Philippsthal and followed in 1810 so that his brother Ludwig. He stepped back in Dutch Services, where he was appointed General.
Ernst Konstantin was a member of the League of Freemasons.

Konstantin Ernst married his first marriage on 10 April 1796 in Rudolstadt Luise ( 1775-1808 ), daughter of Prince Friedrich Carl of Schwarzburg- Rudolstadt ( 1736-1793 ), with whom he had the following children:

His second wife was on February 17, 1812 in Kassel his niece Caroline ( 1793-1872 ), daughter of Prince Karl of Hesse- Philippsthal. From his second marriage he had the following children:
- Victoria (1812-1837)
- Wilhelm Eduard (1817-1819)
