The market town of Philipp (Werra ) is in Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse, Germany, directly on the border with Thuringia.

Geographical location

Philip Thal is situated on the river Werra. The Ulster flows between the village and the village Röhrigshof into the Werra.

History

Philippstal is in a letter of protection of the Pope Celestine III in 1191. mentioned at the Abbey Hersfeld the first time.
