Erwin Righter

Cornelius Erwin " Swede " Righter ( born March 7, 1897 in Campbell, California, † 30 August 1985 in Englewood, Ohio ) was a U.S. American football, basketball and rugby union player and football coach. His biggest success was the Rugby Olympic victory with the U.S. Selection 1920.

Righter was one of the teams at Stanford University for basketball, rugby and American football as his main sport was the football game. As captain of the basketball team, he was elected in 1920 and 1921, the first player to Stanford in the All- Pacific Coast Conference selection and received for his services in the Hall of Fame of the University.

After graduating in 1921 he was hired as the first full-time coach of the basketball and football teams of the University of the Pacific, where he stayed 12 years.

After his stint at the University of the Pacific he coached until his retirement in 1962 several smaller college and high school teams in Northern California. In 1935, he completed a doctorate on basketball training Sciences at Stanford University.
