Etzenborn is a town in the same district of Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony with 216 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2010). He is quite the southeast area of the municipality peers.

Geographical location

Etzenborn is located about 17 kilometers southeast of Göttingen directly at the former inner German border and today's Low Saxon - Thuringian border. The local location is in the upper Nathetal on the steeper escarpment at the transition from the Lower to the calibration field Eichsfelder pool. Surrounded by wooded countryside and the village is surrounded by numerous mountains, such as the Red shore mountain ( 350 m) in the northwest, the mill mountain (265 m ) in the north, the Hunholzberg ( to 310 m ) in the east and the foothills of the Gehlen mountain ( to 360 m) in the south.
