European Diploma of Protected Areas

The European Diploma of Protected Areas is assigned by the Euro Europe award. The euro Europe, which was founded on 5 May 1949, has been working for over 40 years, covering the areas of nature conservation and environmental protection. It is thus an international organization working across borders in the areas mentioned.

Diploma

The introduction of the diploma held by Resolution (65 ) 6 in 1965. It was then determined that the diploma has a duration of five years and a consecutive regranting for another five years is possible. The Diploma is to natural or semi-natural areas, which are of European importance awarded. The diploma is intended to secure the biological, geological and landscape diversity. In 1999, a renaming of the done " European nature conservation diploma for protected landscapes, reserves and natural monuments " in "European Diploma of Protected Areas ".

Award system

Following the receipt of a new application for a certificate is first checked by the "Natural Heritage Division " suitability. If there is a European dimension and a fundamental suitability will be held to review and viewing on site. After reviewing a created report of an expert group is introduced and it can depending on the result the diploma award (usually this is done in conjunction with requirements that must be met ), reject it justified or reset the field in time and demand the fulfillment of certain criteria.

The areas that have been awarded the European Diploma of Protected Areas annually must prepare a report on the development as well as current events. Every five years, finds a survey held by an expert who has to make a report to the region in which the diploma was awarded. Parts of this report may be, for example, new or changed requirements, recommendations, or even a non-renewal.

Areas with nature conservation diploma

A total of up to 10 September 2006, more than 70 areas or objects have been awarded in 25 states with a diploma and submitted an application.
