European route E67

The European Route 67 (abbreviated: E 67 ) or Via Baltica is a trunk road which Prague, Wroclaw and Warsaw connects via Lazdijai, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn (ferry ) to Helsinki. It is thus the most important road link north of Eastern Europe. In part, it is expanded highway-like, the full expansion to the highway is provided in the long term. Their total length is just under 1700 km.

Course

Czechia

The European Route 67 begins in Prague, and first runs along the Czech motorway Dálnice 11 until after Hradec Králové. Then it follows the state road 33 to the Polish border. It is planned to extend the highway to the Polish border.

Poland

Within Poland, the " Via Baltica " is from the Czech border via Wroclaw, Warsaw, Białystok and Augustów to the Lithuanian border. She is completely along the country road 8, which was replaced by the A8 in Wroclaw and the S8 express road on the route from Wroclaw to Białystok or will be. Lithuania

From the border to Kaunas is Lithuania's highway A5. Subsequently, the E 67 extends along the highways A1 and A8 to south of Panevezys. From there, the local bypass of Panevėžys (A17 ) and the A10 trunk road to the Latvian border lead. The route is mostly two lanes, but often expanded with side stripes as well as the acceleration lane to the driveways. The short section of the A1 is expanded and posted as a motorway. The local bypass Kaunas and the section Garliava - Mauručiai, however, are indeed widened to four lanes, but not posted as a motorway. It is planned to expand the A5 motorway as full, as well as to build on the A8 few bypasses.

Latvia

Within Latvia, the " Via Baltica " runs the main state roads A 7, A 5, A 4 and A 1 have this at least in the area around Riga similar standard of development as the route in Lithuania.

Estonia
