Eve (entertainer)

Eve ( Eve Jihan Jeffers bourgeois; born November 10, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American rapper and actress.

Biography

Eve worked as a stripper when she was discovered in 1997 by rapper Mase. This introduced her to Dr. Dre, who took 1998 Aftermath Entertainment under contract. First recordings followed; so Eve was heard, for example, under the name Eve of Destruction on the soundtrack to Bulworth. Nevertheless, she joined in the same year to Ruff Ryders Records, the record company of her good friend DMX, who helped her to a part on the remix to his hit song Ruff Ryders Anthem. This was followed by collaborations with artists such as The Roots, Blackstreet and Janet Jackson.

In 1999, she released her debut album Let There Be Eve ... Ruff Ryder's First Lady. The record reached the number one on the Billboard charts, a success that no other rapper was still able to date. Scorpion followed in 2001, which was also awarded with platinum and reached number four on the charts; the single from the album Let Me Blow Ya Mind ( with Gwen Stefani ) was also awarded a Grammy Award. In 2002 he released with Eve Olution another studio album, on which, among other singles Satisfaction and Gangsta Lovin ' with Alicia Keys are. The album reached # 6 on the charts.

In the meantime, Eve worked as an actress. In 2003 she had a guest role in the film 3 Charlie's Angels - Full Throttle, in which she played a successor angel. From roles in films such as xXx - Triple X, The Woodsman, Barbershop and Barbershop 2 resulted in an own sitcom titled Eve, which aired from 2003 to 2006 on UPN. In the British film drama Flashbacks of a Fool from 2008, she starred alongside Daniel Craig.

Musically they had since been occasionally as a feature on singles by Amerie ( One Thing Remix) Mary J. Blige ( Not Today ) and Gwen Stefani (Rich Girl) heard from him. 2007 Eve moved to Geffen Records. In May 2013 appeared with Lip Lock the fourth album by Eve in the United States.
