Evelin Lanthaler
Evelin Lanthaler (born 6 May 1991, Meran ) is an Italian Naturbahnrodlerin. It was 2009 and 2011 European Junior Champion, 2010 World Junior Champion and won the silver medal at the 2010 European Championships and the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2012. Lanthaler In the World Cup so far reached six podiums. Her older sister Sandra was also Naturbahnrodlerin.
Career
Lanthaler starting from the 2005/2006 season in the Intercontinental Cup and celebrated the beginning of next winter in her home town of Moos in Passeier the first victory. With a further two podiums they scored equal points in the season 2006/2007 with her compatriot Melanie Schwarz third overall. In the 2007/2008 season she decided with two wins in Clusio and Latzfons the Appreciation of the Intercontinental Cup for themselves. In February 2008, the then 16 -year-old first participated in international championships. At the Junior World Championships in Laces she won behind the Austrian Melanie Batkowski the silver medal and a week later she finished sixth at the 2008 European Championships in Olang.
Since the 2007/2008 season Lanthaler start in the World Cup. This winter they played four World Cup races, reaching for the best results two sixth places at the end of season in Železniki, which she was eighth in the overall standings. In the 2008/2009 season she scored by three fifth places in the fourth World Cup race in German oven with second place their first podium. She then won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships in Longiaru, but missed at the 2009 World Championships in moss pass in eggs as each fourth in single-seaters and team competition twice just short of the podium. In the last two World Cup races of the winter they no longer ran in the top five and finished in the overall standings to fourth place.
In the first three World Cup races of the season 2009/2010 Lanhaler scored two fifth and one fourth place. In mid-January, she won with only eight hundredths of seconds behind the favorite Lawrentjewa Ekaterina from Russia the silver medal at the European Championships 2010 in St. Sebastian. At the end of the month she was in German furnace by a large margin Junior World Champion. In the World Cup was followed by two third places in Laces and Latzfons and fourth place at the finals in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, which they scored the fourth overall as last year. To kick off the 2010/2011 season Lanthaler was in Novouralsk Fourth twice before she stood in Gsies as third on the podium again. With two more top 5 results, she was again fourth in the overall World Cup. At the World Cup 2011 in Obergurgl they finished fifth. A week later she again won the gold medal at the European Junior Championship 2011 in Laas.
In the World Cup season 2011/2012 Lanthaler ran as a third party in each case in Olang and German oven twice on the podium. But the overall World Cup she fell three fourth places to sixth rank. At the European Championships 2012 in Novouralsk she won the bronze medal behind Lawrentjewa and Batkowski in the single-seater.
