FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 2008

The 22nd FIL natural track luge European championship was held from 15 to 17 February 2008 at the Olang Italian place on the toboggan run " Panorama".

Single Seater Men

Date: February 16 ( 1 scoring run ) and 17 February 2008 ( 2nd and 3rd scoring run )

Robert Batkowski, the world champion in 2003, was quickest in the second of the three races European champions. The silver medal was won by Italian Anton Blasbichler, the fastest time in the third round went, but lost in the second too much time on Batkowski. The bronze medal won as with the EM 2006, the Italians Patrick Pigneter. He won the first of three runs and was after the second still in the lead, but lost in the third round over 1.4 seconds. The defending Gernot Schwab tenth.

Single Seater Ladies

The reigning world champion Yekaterina Lawrentjewa was with personal bests in the first and second scoring run for the second time after 2004 European Champion. The third round won the silver medal winner Renate Kasslatter from Italy, so her teammate Renate Gietl - it was after two rounds still in second place - in third place referred.

Two-seater

The Russians Pavel and Ivan Lazarev Porschnew became the third consecutive European Champion in doubles. Previously this was only the Austrians Andi and Helmut Ruetz succeeded in the 1990s.
