FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 1978
The 7th FIL natural track luge European championship was held from February 17 to 19, 1978 in Herzogenaurach near Kitzbühel in Austria.

The Italian Hubert Mairamhof was European champion in the men's singles ahead of Austrian Werner Prantl. For both it was their first European medal. The European Champion from 1975, Alfred Kogler from Austria, was third. The defending champion Erich Graber did not reach the target.
