FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 1974

The fourth FIL Luge Natural Track Championship was held from 9 to 10 February 1974 in Niedernsill in Austria.

Single Seater Men

In the fourth natural track luge European championship for the first time went the gold medal in the men's single-seaters to Italy. Having previously had won three times Austrian, took this year Erich Graber first time the European Championship in Italy. The seats two to twelve occupied Austrians. The silver medal won Erwin Eichelberger, who had already won bronze in 1971. Its residue was only 5 hundredths of a second. Third was Albert Eichelberger, who won his only European Championship medal.

Single Seater Ladies

For the fourth time European Champion title went in single-seaters of the ladies at Austria and the third time were only Austrians on the podium. Klara Niedertscheider that was back in 1971 European champion, won the gold medal with a lead of 3.82 seconds for the second time. Silver went to the defending Elfriede Pirkmann. Third place went to Anne Marie Ebner, who in 1971 had reached the second place.

Two-seater

European Champion in doubles were the Austrians Siegfried Wild and Othmar Hofer. They had already won the bronze medal in 1971. The silver medal went to the Italians Robert Jud and Erich Graber. For Robert Jud was the first European medal, Erich Graber had already won the first European Championship 1970 together with Hans Graber the silver medal. Third place went to the Austrian Helmut Hofer and Karl Klein Flat. For them, it was their only Championship medal.
