FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 1981
The 9th FIL natural track luge European championship was held from 4 to 8 February 1981 in Niedernsill in Austria.
On the wear they were on the toboggan run Luziawald the USK Niedernsill.

Single Seater Men
After her eight-way victory in 1977, the Italian team even celebrated this year a ten -fold victory. Otto Bachmann, in the prior year third in the World Championship, and two years ago at the Second European Championship, became European Champion in the single-seater. The defending champion Damiano Lugon won the silver medal. Bronze went to Othmar Neulichedl, who thus won his only medal at the championships.
Single Seater Ladies
The reigning World Champion Delia Vaudan from Italy was European champion in the women's single-seater. The silver medal won the European Champion in 1977, Helene Mitterstieler from Italy. The third place went to the European champion in 1973 and 1978, Elfriede Pirkmann from Austria.
Two-seater
European Champion in doubles were the Austrian Alfred Kogler and Franz Huber. The silver medal won their countrymen Mairamhof Hubert and Herbert Huber. Third were the Manfred and Willi Danklmaier brothers from Austria.
