FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 2004

The 20th FIL natural track luge European championship was held to 8 February 2004 at the Austrian Huttau of 6.

Single Seater Men

Date: February 7 ( 1 scoring run ) and 8 February 2004 ( 2nd and 3rd scoring run )

The Austrian Gerhard Pilz was the second time in a row, European champion in single-seaters. The silver medal was won by Italian Andreas Castiglioni, was third Gerald Kallan from Austria.

Single Seater Ladies

Date: February 7 (1st and 2nd championship round ) and 8 February 2004 ( 3 championship round )

The Russian Ekaterina Lawrentjewa, which was as early as 2000 World Champion, was with personal bests in all three championship rounds, European champion in the women's single-seater. Second place went to the Italian Christa Gietl who had previously won several medals at world and European championships. Third place went to Barbara variety, also from Italy, who won her first medal at major events. The defending champion Sandra Lanthaler was ninth.

Two-seater

Date: 7 February 2004 (both races )

The Russians Pavel and Ivan Lazarev Porschnew who already were runners-up in the World Championships a year earlier, drove in two scoring runs fastest time and became European Champion in doubles. Their fellow countrymen Denis Alimov and Roman Molwistow scored the second fastest time and won the silver medal. Were third with the respective third-fastest time defending champion and reigning world champion Wolfgang and Andreas Schopf from Austria.
