Evgeny Makarenko

Yevgeny Mikhailovich Makarenko (Russian: Евгений Михайлович Макаренко; born October 10, 1975 in Nizhnevartovsk ) is a Russian boxer.

The 1.96 m tall southpaw Makarenko began in 1985 with the boxes. 1994, 1995, 2000-2003 and 2006, he was Russian master. He celebrated his first international success in 1993 in Thessaloniki by winning the European Junior Championship in the light middleweight.

In the heavyweight antretend he was at the 1998 European Championships in Minsk Third, he was defeated there in the semifinals of the Italian Giacobbe Fragomeni. Then in 2002 ( heavyweight) and 2004 ( light heavyweight ), he was able to win the European title.

Also, include two world titles in the heavyweight class to his success: in 2001 he won at the championships in Belfast and 2003 in Bangkok, where he suggested, among others, in the semi-final the Czechs Rudolf Kraj.

In 2004, he participated in the Olympic Games in Athens in part and suggested there the Cuban Yoan Pablo Hernandez, but then succumbed to the eventual champion Andre Ward from the USA. In 2005, he suggested Denys Pojazyka, 2006 the young star Artur Beterbijew but he was defeated in 2007.
