The Samtgemeinde Eystrup was an integrated municipality of the district Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony with administrative headquarters in Eystrup. 2011 merged the Municipality Eystrup with the integrated municipality county Hoya.

Merger of municipalities within the Samtgemeinde

The financial reasons, planned for 2006 merger of the municipalities Eystrup and Gandesbergen was rejected by the council Gandesbergener.

Culture and sights

  • In Eystrup is a church, whose foundations date from the 12th century.
  • In Hassel, there is a more than 1,000 -year-old fortified church, which was restored and for a village contains remarkable ceiling paintings.

The secondary sector is represented with a jam factory, a mustard factory and a toy manufacturer in Eystrup.

Furthermore Eystrup is the center for all surrounding communities. The public infrastructure of the velvet municipality is centrally located here. The town hall, primary school, kindergarten and an old age home are here. The public utility infrastructure is represented, among others supermarkets, doctors, a pharmacy, post office and a railway station. A branch of the VHS offers courses.

Also a sports club and various shooting clubs, which originate from the former self-sufficient villages, from which Eystrup is in the core, are represented.

Traffic

By Samtgemeinde Eystrup the federal highway 215 runs Eystrup has a station on the main railway route Bremen - Hannover and at the Weser -Aller -Bahn from Rotenburg ( Wümme) to Minden in Westphalia.
