Gandesbergen

Gandesbergen is a municipality in the district of Nienburg / Weser in Lower Saxony.

Geography

Gandesbergen located near the natural park Geest and the Natural Park Steinhude approximately midway between Bremen and Hannover. The village belonged until 2010 to the Samtgemeinde Eystrup, which had its headquarters in the town of Eystrup. On 1 January 2011 this merged with the Samtgemeinde county Hoya to then enlarged Samtgemeinde county Hoya. The original village center limits the retention areas of the Weser River and is complemented by built after the Second World War housing estates near the railway line between Hanover and Bremen.

The honorary mayor Karl- Heinz Stein was elected on November 8, 2006.

Merger with Eystrup

The planned for 2006 for financial reasons municipality merger with Eystrup was rejected by the council Gandesbergener.

The community is located directly on the main road 215 that leads from Nienburg / Weser to Verden (Aller).
