Geographical location

Wietzen is between March and Geest Weser and belongs to Samtgemeinde Marklohe. The county town of Nienburg is 13 kilometers away.

South of Wietzen springs from the opening into the Weser Bückener mill creek.

History

End of the 11th century, the castle was Stumpenhusen built in the municipality Wietzen. However, of the former castle is nothing more preserved. The Castle Hill is completely leveled. Around the same time, the still existing St Gangolf Church was built.

Incorporations

Museums

Heimatstube Wietzen: 1984 was set up a home office in the "Old School " on behalf of the local council Wietzen by curator Henry Lüdeke.
