Geography

Geographical Location

The community Marklohe is 5 km away from Nienburg on the opposite side of the Weser and about in the middle between Verden ( Aller) and Minden. Marklohe is the administrative seat of the velvet municipality Marklohe, with the municipalities of bellows, Marklohe and Wietzen.

Community structure

The municipality also includes the Marklohe directly adjacent districts Lemke and Wohlhausen, and about 1.5 km from the district Oyle.

History

The town expanded in 1931 to its original name of Lohe to Marklohe. There are suspicions that Marklohe was the central meeting place of the pre-Christian Old Saxons Marklo. However, this could not be clearly established.

Incorporations

On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Lemke, Oyle and Wohlhausen were incorporated.

Culture and sights

Theater

In Marklohe there is an open-air theater, which is operated by the layman e Players Club home games Marklohe V. volunteers. There, each year is listed, a Low German piece in the summer.

Even in winter the home games are active, here is played in Marklohe as well as in the theater on the horn work in Nienburg (Weser) in the inn Frank.

Structures

The St. Clemens Romanus church, which was built in the 12th century, has choral decorative paintings and carved.

Traffic

The community is located directly on the main road 214 that leads from Nienburg / Weser to Sulingen and on the main road 6 of Nienburg to Bremen.

Public institutions

  • For security and order, the police station Nienburg is responsible. In Tagdienst a police station in Marklohe is set up.
  • Fire protection is provided by the volunteer fire services Lemke, Marklohe, Oyle and Wohlhausen.
