Fabio Coltorti

Fabio Coltorti ( born December 3, 1980 in Locarno ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper, who plays for RB Leipzig.

Career

Association

Fabio Coltorti began his career in 1987 at SC Kriens, which is a typical training club with one of the largest junior sections in Switzerland. With Kriens he created in 1997 the rise in the National League A; in which Kriens but relegation after one season. In 2001 Coltorti moved to FC Schaffhausen, where he played for two years until he switched in 2003 to FC Thun, where he played in the Intertoto Cup in 2004. He was runner-up with tuna the Super League in 2005. In the same year he moved to Grasshopper Club Zurich. Both 2006 and 2007 he played with the GCZ in the UEFA Cup. On 28 August 2007 Fabio Coltorti signed with the Spanish football club Racing Santander a four-year contract. In June 2011 it was announced that Fabio Coltorti changes in the 2011/12 season to Super League team FC Lausanne-Sport. After the 2011/12 season Coltorti moved abroad again, but to RB Leipzig, which was playing in the Regionalliga. The Leipzig group Coltorti rose in the third league at the end of the season.

National

His debut in the national team was Coltorti on 1 March 2006 in an away game against the hosts Scotland. Then he played a friendly match against Italy when he was appointed to the national squad for the World Cup; As the No. 2 behind Pascal Zuber Buhler and before Diego Benaglio but he did not play.

After the World Cup he played six times for the national team. He was again nominated as the second goalkeeper for the 2008 European Championship, but had to cancel because of a post- viral fatigue syndrome. For him, Eldin Jakupović was re-nominated.
