Fábio de Matos Pereira

Fabio Pereira de Matos (mostly Fabinho; born February 26, 1982 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian football player who is in Brazil at FC Botafogo ( SP) under contract.

Career

Fabinho was born in Rio de Janeiro and played in the youth of the Friburguense Atlético Clube, in Nova Friburgo district ( German: Neu Freiburg) which was founded by Swiss immigrants from Fribourg. After the youth he moved at the age of 21 years to Atlético Paranaense, the club from Curitiba played Fabinho to 2006 and was awarded the meantime to Paysandu SC in the Série C, as well as to Sociedade Esportiva Tiradentes.

After the contract was not renewed at Paranaense, he moved to Anorthosis Famagusta in the Cypriot First Division. There, the relatively small Fabinho came to a total of 38 stakes where he scored 4 goals. In 2008, he played the Romanian second division club FC Braşov who rose in the first league at the end of the season.

On 18 September 2008 it was announced that Fabinho has signed a three -year contract with Metalurh Donetsk. In the 2008 /09 season he reached the fourth place in the table with Metalurh, and played in the 2009/10 season the third qualifying round of the Europa League against Inter block Ljubljana, where Fabinho was used in return game. In the play-off defeat against Austria Vienna, he came to no use. After two years in Ukraine this changed one year before the contract expires prematurely to Cyprus Ermis Aradippou. There he occupied under coach Christos Kassianos the 8th Place at season's end.

In February 2011 Fabinho signed a contract at Skonto Riga of the Latvian Virsliga. There, however, this was only until end of season to go back to Brazil in January.
