Fahy-lès-Autrey

Fahy -lès- Autrey is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Fahy -lès- Autrey is located at an altitude of 253 m above sea level, 11 km northwest of Gray and about 39 km northeast of the city of Dijon (air line). The village is located in the extreme west of the department, on a hill in the northwest of the plateau landscape Saônetals.

The area of ​​6.20 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the area of ​​gently undulating plateau northwest of the Saônetals. The plateau is on average 250 m and is used mainly for agricultural purposes. It consists of an alternation of calcareous and sandy- marly sediments of the upper Jurassic period. The area is divided by two valleys, to the southwest the Combe à l' Oiseau, the topographical part of the catchment area of ​​the Soufroide, in the East Combe à la Fourque. However, they show no surface watercourses, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. History

Remains of a Roman road traffic evidence of an early settlement of the area. In the Middle Ages Fahy belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government had held the Lords of Vergy. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Since the French Revolution Fahy was a district of Autrey- lès-Gray, but was again separated in 1821 and elevated to the independent community. Today Fahy -lès- Autrey is a member of the comprehensive 14 villages municipal association Communauté de communes des Quatre Vallées.

Attractions

The village church of Fahy -lès- Autrey was rebuilt in 1705, with the porch was involved from 1564. In-room amenities include the richly carved pulpit and the confessional from the 18th century and a painting of Saint Cosmo and Damian (18th century), the two village cartridge.

Population

With 109 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Fahy -lès- Autrey is one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881 318 persons were still counted ), only small fluctuations were recorded since the mid- 1970s.

Economy and infrastructure

Fahy -lès- Autrey is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Many workers are therefore commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road, leading from Auvet to Saint -Seine- sur -Vingeanne. Further road links exist with Pouilly -sur -Vingeanne and Autrey- lès- Gray.
