Faja Grande is a Freguesia (municipality ) in the district of Lajes das Flores Azores island of Flores. It lies on a coastal plain at the foot of a several hundred -meter-high cliff. Being the westernmost settlement on the island, it is also the most westerly town in Europe. The island Monchique or Ilhéu do Monchique (31 ° 16 ' 24 "W ), Faja Grande upstream to the west, forms the westernmost point of Europe.
