Farey (Niger)

Farey (also: Farrey ) is a rural municipality in the department of Dosso in Niger.

Geography

Farey is the major landscape Sudan. The neighboring municipalities are Goroubankassam in the north, Tessa in the northeast, Dioundiou the southeast, Yelou in the south and Gollé in the West. The municipality is divided into 40 administrative villages, 19 traditional villages and three hamlets. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Farey (also: Farrey ).

History

The rural community of Farey was founded in 2002 at a nationwide administrative reform a part of the canton Dosso forth.

Population

At the 2001 census Farey had 26,507 inhabitants. For the year 2010 35.459 inhabitants were calculated.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture. There are 28 primary schools and 15 centers for literacy in Farey. In health care, three health centers (French: centers de santé Integré ) stand, and five health centers (French: cases de santé ) are available. Farey is on the leading after Koré Maïroua National Highway 2 and National Highway 7 which connects the village to the regional capital Dosso and the border with Benin at Gaya.
