Mokko is a rural municipality in the department of Dosso in Niger.
Geography
Mokko lies in the large landscape Sudan. The neighboring municipalities are Loga in the north, Falwel in the Northeast, I Tombokoirey the southeast, Goroubankassam in the south, Dosso in the southwest, Garankédey in the west and Sokorbé in the northwest. The municipality is divided into 39 administrative villages, 37 traditional villages, hamlets and a 25 bearing. The main town of the country church is the administrative village mokko.
History
The rural community mokko was founded in 2002 at a nationwide administrative reform a part of the canton Dosso forth.
Population
At the 2001 census mokko had 37 062 inhabitants. For the year 2010 49.578 inhabitants were calculated.
Economy and infrastructure
The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture. In mokko there is a significant market for cereals, legumes and livestock, which are traded to Maradi. Mokko is located on the National Road 14, which connects the village to the neighboring cities of Dosso and Loga.
