Goroubankassam

Goroubankassam (also: Gorouban Kassam, Gorou Bank Assam ) is a rural municipality in the department of Dosso in Niger.
Geography
Goroubankassam lies in the large landscape Sudan. The neighboring municipalities are mokko in the northwest, I Tombokoirey in the northeast, Karguibangou in the east, in the southeast Tessa, Farey in the south, Gollé in the southwest and Dosso in the West. The municipality is divided into 33 administrative villages, 26 traditional villages, hamlets and a 26 stock. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Goroubankassam (also: Gorou Bank Assam ).
History
The rural community Goroubankassam was founded in 2002 at a nationwide administrative reform a part of the canton Dosso forth. In June 2008, floods destroyed 181 houses in the village, 266 inhabitants were considered damaged.
Population
At the 2001 census Goroubankassam had 24,870 inhabitants. For the year 2010 33.269 inhabitants were calculated.
Economy and infrastructure
The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture. By Goroubankassam the National Road 1, which here is part of the international highway Dakar - N'Djamena - Highway runs.
