Farther Along (The Byrds album)

Occupation

Farther Along is the eleventh album by the American folk rock band The Byrds. It was released on November 17, 1971 on the label, Columbia Records. Dismayed by the poor reviews and sales of Byrdmaniax with which the band had even been too unhappy, traveled the four musicians summarily to London to record an album yet and this time to make it. The album was a bit warmer taken by critics than its predecessor, however, turned out to be a commercial flop. It reached its peak in the States at # 152 on the pop charts; in the UK it did not come to a chart entry.

On November 29, the only single from the album, America 's Great National Pastime / Farther Along, which charted neither in the States nor in Britain appeared.

Farther Along was to be the last studio album by the Byrds for the time being. They were still functioning for over a year with changing drummers until early 1973 Roger McGuinn disbanded the band. He realized then that same year a reunion of the original cast.
