Farzad Abdollahi

Farzad Abdollahi (Persian فرزاد عبداللهی; born October 27, 1990 in Meyaneh ) is an Iranian Taekwondo. It starts in the weight category up to 80 kilograms.

His first international success achieved Abdollahi at the Junior Asia Cup 2007 in Amman. In the category up to 68 kg, he won silver. The following year he was in Henan with a final victory against Zhu Guo first time Asian champions in the adult area. In his first World Championship in Copenhagen in 2009 Abdollahi moved into the quarter-finals, before he lost against Steven Lopez. Another successful event was in 2010. Abdollahi repeated in the Asia Cup in Astana in the class up to 74 kg of winning the title and won also at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in the class up to 80 kg bronze medal. His athletic biggest success so far achieved Abdollahi at the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju. In the category up to 80 kilograms, he moved into the semi-finals, defeating there Ramin Azizov prematurely left during the finale, Yunus Sari no chance and won his first world title.
