FC Cetatea Suceava

FC Cetatea Suceava was a Romanian football club based in Suceava. He was a total of four seasons, the second Romanian league, the Liga II, and was in the second round by the Romanian Cup.

History

Cetatea Suceava ( German fortress ) was founded in 2004 to continue the football tradition in Suceava, Suceava after Foresta returned to Fălticeni and CSM Suceava had been a few years earlier dissolved. The club first started in Divizia C, but rose in 2005 in the Divizia B, the second Romanian football league on. There could Cetatea the season 2005/ 06 to conclude on the fifth place in the Season 3. At the same time he reached after a win against first division side Sportul Studenţesc the knockout stages at the Romanian Cup, retired from there but to eventual winners Rapid Bucharest. A year later, the club was relegated again, but managed its chances of promotion. The 2008/09 season the team struggled constantly to the relegation. After the first round of 2009/10 the club was excluded from the game operation by the Romanian Football Federation due to tax debts. This Cetatea were relegated from the Liga II.

In the summer of 2010, Cetatea reported for the operation of gambling in the League III, after a new sponsor was found. However, the club withdrew before the first game and broke up.
