FC Shinnik Yaroslavl

The FK Schinnik Yaroslavl (Russian Футбольный клуб Шинник Ярославль; Futbolny club Schinnik Yaroslavl; scientific transliteration Futbol'nyj club Šinnik Yaroslavl ') is a Russian football club was established in 1957 from the city of Yaroslavl. The club played from 2002 to 2006 and 2008 in the Premjer League.

History

Soviet Championship

The club was founded under the name Chimik, Russian chemist Химик = 1957. In 1960 the name was changed to the present name Schinnik, a derivative of Schina = tires. A first major sporting success was the promotion to the top league of the Soviet Union in 1963, however, followed the last but one season in 1964, the immediate re descent. By the end of the 1980s Schinnik was able to record any further success, but always remained unterklassig. During 1988 as in 1990 Schinnik even eliminated in the Round of 32 of the Soviet Cup, the club in 1991, the last Soviet Cup under normal conditions in the second round, however, where the team was eliminated against Lok.Moscow unhappy after two shifts because of an unplayable place on neutral ground.

Russian Championship

Even otherwise Schinnik was relatively successful, so that the Club for the first season of the created Russian premier league qualified, but there in the preliminary round Group B last and finished in the relegation round as the second-worst team.

Only in 1996 succeeded as vice-champion of the second division of the Russian resurgence. In the first year of excellence fourth place could be reached, the person entitled to participate in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, but in the 1998 season, managed to avoid relegation with a winning edge, and in 1999 the club got off last. In the descent but also managed the biggest success in the Russian Cup, reaching the quarter-finals.

Since the rise as champions of the second division in 2001 Schinnik was top notch until 2006. In the 2006 season, however, showed Schinnik with only one win from thirty games by far the worst performance of all Premjer - League clubs and therefore had to dismount, but was able to rise in 2007 as Master of the 1st Division immediately. In the 2008 season successes of the new descent into the second division.
