Ferenc Kónya

Ferenc Kónya, Franz Kónya (* 1890, † after the Second World War missing ) was a Hungarian football player and coach. As a coach, he took part with the Estonian national football team at the Summer Olympics in 1924 in Paris. It was 1922, the first supervisor, who worked as a professional trainer at SV Werder Bremen.

Playing career

As a player Kónya was active for the Kispesti AC was known as Honvéd Budapest from 1926.

Coaching career

His coaching career began in 1921 in Germany Kónya at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern, already after the season 1921/22, he went to SV Werder Bremen for which he served as the first full-time coach, and was financed by the physical education teachers Fund. Due to financial problems, it came after two years of separation. In the summer of 1924 Kónya oversaw the Estonian national football team at the Summer Olympic Games; He was also the first coach of the association. After he found with the Italian Olympic FC Modena a new job as a club coach. From the summer of 1927 until the winter of 1928/29, he was coach of FC Luzern in Switzerland. This was followed with FC Olten, BSC Old Boys Basel and FC Solothurn three other clubs in the Alpine republic which he oversaw in the following years. He later worked in France where he was known under the name François Konya.
